It was a memorable evening for all the athletes present at the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games which was held last night at the Élysée Palace. The president of the Republic Emmanuel Macronaccompanied by his wife, the first lady Brigitte Macron, paid tribute to all the French athletes who defended the colors of France during this major sporting event. Among the champions present, there was of course Quentin Fillon Mailletreturned with no less than five medals!
The 29-year-old champion also had a hard time wearing his two gold medals and three silver medals around his neck and he preferred to keep them in his hand. The magic duo of figure skating, Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron was also in the game and alongside the para-skier athlete Arthur Bauchet. The star couple and the biathlete were among seven Olympic champions who were awarded the Legion of Honor yesterday. Among the other recipients of this very prestigious decoration, we also find the slalom gold medalist Clement Noelas well as the biathlete Justine Braisaz-Bouchetwho took gold on the mass start.
Quentin Fillon Maillet “very honored”
A very beautiful ceremony held at the Élysée Palace and during which several members of the government were able to exchange with the stars of the Winter Olympics. A beautiful moment for Quentin Fillon Maillet as he revealed on his Instagram account. The great rival of Martin Fourcade, a few years ago, obviously appreciated the honors which were returned to him. “Very honored and proud to have been named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor”he writes in his story to accompany a photo next to the president and another where we can see him with the Minister Delegate in charge of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu.
A very beautiful evening therefore for the stars of French sport, honored as it should be by the President of the Republic during a prestigious ceremony at the Élysée.
