In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at 96, shortly after her platinum jubilee. Her death shocked the world, with Boris Johnson revealing she had been suffering from a form of bone cancer. In a twist, two years posthumously, she will appear in a cameo in “Paddington 3,” filmed with royal family consent, featuring a scene from her jubilee videos. The film, set for a February 5, 2025 release, sees Paddington on an adventure to Peru to visit his missing aunt Lucy, with a returning cast and new actors.
The year 2022 was marked by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96. Just three months after celebrating her Platinum Jubilee, commemorating 70 years on the throne, the British monarch passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, surrounded by her family, including her successor. Her death sent shockwaves around the globe, with many tuning in to her funeral held at Westminster Abbey. While her death certificate mentioned she died of ‘old age’, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated she had been suffering from a ‘form of bone cancer.’
In his memoirs published on October 10, the British politician reflected on his last meeting with Queen Elizabeth II at her estate in Scotland. ‘I had known for about a year that she was suffering from a type of bone cancer, and her doctors were concerned that her condition could decline at any moment.’ Similar comments were made by biographer Gyles Brandreth, who noted in his book, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, that the Queen was battling bone marrow cancer.
