Québec’s favorite bakery | Paillard comes to the South Shore of Montreal

The café-bakery behind one of the best croissants in Quebec is coming to the greater metropolitan area. For its fourth branch, Paillard has chosen to settle in Longueuil, in the borough of Saint-Hubert, inside the building that houses the Archipel store, home living.


“We had a huge demand from our customers. Our shop on rue Saint-Jean is in a very touristy area. Every day, someone asked: “When are you coming to Montreal?” “, explains Christelle Philippon, President of Paillard.

If she and her team opted for this large, bright premises located near the Promenades Saint-Bruno, it was in particular with a view to collaborating in the organization of events with their neighbour, Archipel, a new kind of garden center open for nearly a year.

On site, Paillard regulars will find their favorite products: croissants and other pastries, sandwiches, including the famous Brie ham, tempting pastries, pizzas to enjoy on the spot or to take away and even, for a few days, Easter chocolates. Not to mention a wide variety of breads, of course.

“We worked very, very hard to ensure that the Paillard experience was the same. We tried to recreate a warm and cozy establishment, ”continues the president. And for those who don’t know this popular bakery in Quebec, its president insists on one point: no, it’s not a chain. “All of our products are handmade. They are all homemade, despite the expansion,” she describes. “With local products,” says her husband and partner, Amroune Salah.
