“It was a privilege and an honor for me to serve for a decade as Director and Artistic Director of The Power Plant, a contemporary art gallery known for its groundbreaking exhibitions and programming,” said Mme Verna.

Gaëtane Verna was the first woman to run this non-profit gallery, which is one of the most important contemporary art institutions in English Canada.

One of his major accomplishments at the Power Plant will undoubtedly have been to instil a policy of inclusivity and accessibility which was reflected even in the choice of artists exhibited. His departure is scheduled for September.
