Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime lost in the quarter-finals of the Estoril Open on Friday.
Auger-Aliassime lost in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to American Sebastian Korda.
Auger-Aliassime, the favorite in this ATP 250 clay tournament, struggled to stay out of trouble in this match and Korda, the eighth seed, took advantage.
Korda had 11 break chances during the game and he made five of them.
The American only faced three break points and saved two.
Auger-Aliassime won just 48 percent of his points on serve and 38 percent of his points on return. By comparison, Korda has won 62 percent of her points on serve and 52 percent of her points on return.
Korda will now face compatriot Frances Tiafoe in the semi-finals.
