Quebec will present an economic update on November 7

Quebec Finance Minister Eric Girard announced Thursday morning that he will offer his economic update on November 7.

In a press scrum at the National Assembly, Mr. Girard said he heard the population’s concerns on the issues of housing, homelessness and adaptation to climate change.

He did not want to comment on the precise measures he intends to put in place.

Mr. Girard also stressed the importance of reaching an agreement with the federal government on housing by next week. He recalled that Quebec will not accept that Ottawa adds conditions to the financing.

Minister Girard says he has expressed his requests to the federal Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland.

“There is a time to discuss, then there is a time to agree, we have reached the moment where we need to agree,” he concluded.
