Quebec weather cocktail starting Thursday

An atmospheric depression from the United States that caused tornadoes will sweep across Quebec leaving a mixture of precipitation in its path on Thursday and Friday.

While the sun will still be present in several areas, cloudiness will begin in the morning in the west of the province with seasonal temperatures.

Precipitation will start in the form of rain or snow in the south of the province overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, according to Environment Canada forecasts.

The weather cocktail will affect Montreal and the St. Lawrence River Valley on Thursday, as the mercury drops slightly.

In Quebec and in the northern and eastern sectors of the province, the federal agency, on the other hand, forecasts significant accumulations of snow, particularly on the North Shore and in Gaspésie.

This climate, which looks like a late winter, will see temperatures drop below normal for the season, especially in the far east of the province.

The bad weather could persist until the weekend with snow and stormy rain in places.
