Quebec is undertaking the long project it had undertaken to launch following the tabling of the Laurent report on youth protection. The Minister for Health and Social Services, Lionel Carmant, tabled a bill on Wednesday with the aim of making his reform a reality.
This legislative measure comes about six months after Régine Laurent tabled her thick report on the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse (DYP). It aims in particular to improve the Youth Protection Act and to strengthen the powers of action of regional directors.
