The Minister responsible for Housing, France-Élaine Duranceau, announces the financing of 1,000 more housing units as part of the Quebec Affordable Housing Program (PHAQ). These are in addition to the 7,655 subsidized housing units awaiting construction in Quebec.
At the end of September, the government launched a vast call for proposals to invite interested organizations to submit their projects. The time has come to reveal who the lucky winners will be.
Launched in 2022, PHAQ is the program that replaced Accès Logis in terms of subsidized housing.
Of the 1,500 housing units financed through this envelope since last year, none have yet been built, and only 40 are in progress.
The SHQ must also deal with significant delays in completing those that had been financed by Accès Logis in previous years (5,368 are still in the development stage and 2,792 under construction).
