Québec solidaire still spends thousands of dollars on Meta

(Quebec) Québec solidaire (QS) continues to spend thousands of dollars on advertising on Meta platforms, in the midst of a media crisis.

The party’s parliamentary leader, Alexandre Leduc, said Tuesday that his party had no choice because it is an essential tool.

QS, which has always spoken out against the web giants, put an end to the boycott of Facebook started by the parties in Quebec during the complement in the riding of Jean-Talon.

But since the supplement, the party has spent between $3,500 and $4,589 on advertisements, according to Meta’s advertising library.

According to the parliamentary leader of QS, the party does not abuse this type of publicity.

In September, Émilise Lessard-Therrien, who had just been elected co-spokesperson for QS, asked the party to stop buying ads on Facebook.
