The person who will succeed him has been chosen, but his identity has not been revealed, the Council of Ministers having to first ratify this appointment.

Sonia Gagné arrived at the Quebec Society for Recovery and Recycling (Recyc-Québec) in 2012, where she notably held two positions as vice-president before taking the helm of the organization in January 2018, after the resignation of the CEO. previous, left to take up a job in the private sector.

The Council of Ministers had officially entrusted him with the reins of the organization a little less than three months later, for a mandate to end on March 27, 2023, specifies the government decree.

The Legault government brought about major changes to recovery and recycling during Sonia Gagné’s tenure as head of Recyc-Québec, including the adoption of reforms to selective collection and the deposit of beverage containers.

“Madame Gagné is still in office”, indicated to The Press a spokeswoman for the state corporation, Véronique Boulanger, in a terse email.

“In accordance with Article 11.1 of the Crown Corporations Governance Actat the end of their mandate, the members of the council remain in office until they are reappointed or replaced”, she specified without further details.

The CEO’s annual salary was $151,345, in addition to a monthly allowance of $1,225 for her living expenses in Quebec “for the duration of the present mandate or until her move”, indicated the decree of her nomination.
