Quebec Society for Recovery and Recycling | A close collaborator of Minister Charette named CEO of Recyc-Québec

(Québec) The Legault government appoints a close associate of Minister Benoit Charette to head Recyc-Québec.

The Council of Ministers on Wednesday endorsed the appointment of Emmanuelle Géhin as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the state-owned company, replacing Sonia Gagné, whose The Press revealed the sacking last week.

Emmanuelle Géhin was until July 2022 deputy director of the cabinet of the Minister of the Environment, the Fight against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks, Benoit Charette.

She was there “the architect of the modernization of the deposit and selective collection”, she indicates on her online professional page.

This is a homecoming for Mme Géhin, who worked at the Quebec Society for Recovery and Recycling (Recyc-Québec) for five years, before joining the cabinet of Minister Charette.

Emmanuelle Géhin was also a candidate for the Coalition Avenir Québec in 2012, in the riding of Borduas, in Montérégie, which the PQ Pierre Duchesne had won.

Previously, she led OZONE, a Quebec consulting firm in sustainable development and green marketing.

After leaving Minister Charette’s office in July, Ms.me Géhin had been named CEO of Transfert Environnement et Société, a company that offers support to various organizations “in their issues of citizen participation, public consultation and environmental communication”.
