Quebec singer Émmanuëlle has died

Quebec singer Émmanuëlle, who enjoyed significant popular music successes during the 1970s and 1980s, died on March 3.

The news was reported on social networks on Wednesday by songwriter Stéphane Venne, who composed and wrote some of the songs that made Émmanuëlle famous.

One of them, And it’s not over, written in 1973, still survives today in the collective memory of Quebecers. This great success was repeated a few years ago by the first vintage of Star Académie.

Stéphane Venne also wrote, among other things, The world upside down And Tell me about our country for Emmanuelle.

The singer, who was born in Montreal in 1942, collaborated with other composers and lyricists during her career, including François Dompierre and Luc Plamondon for Take me to the suna song recorded in 1972.

In the company of several other Quebec singing artists, Émmanuëlle took part in the show in 2013 The Return of Our Idols.

The circumstances of Emmanuelle’s death have not been communicated.
