Quebec reports 3,381 hospitalizations related to COVID-19

Quebec reports Monday 54 new deaths associated with COVID-19, as well as an increase of 81 hospitalizations.

The number of hospitalizations now stands at 3,381, including 286 in intensive care, four more than on Sunday.

The health authorities officially reported 5,400 new cases on Monday, a number which is however not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

Since the start of the pandemic, 801,153 infections have been reported, and 12,364 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 35,831 analyzes were performed on Sunday, and Quebec has a positivity rate of 13.1%.

With regard to vaccination, 75,667 doses of vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec, including 3,286 first doses. To date, 2,646,329 third doses have been given.

According to the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec, 85.2% of the population has received at least one dose of vaccine against COVID-19. Among those aged 12 and over, 92.1% have received at least one dose and 89.8% are adequately vaccinated.
