Quebec reported 16,176 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, as well as 27 additional deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 712,358 infections have been reported, and 11,873 of them have been shown to be fatal.
The health authorities have 2,133 people hospitalized because of the disease in Quebec, an increase of 180 hospitalizations compared to the day before. Of these, 229 are in intensive care, 22 more than Thursday.
