Quebec reports 20 more deaths and 38 new hospitalizations related to COVID-19

Quebec reports Tuesday 20 new deaths caused by COVID-19, as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

The number of people hospitalized is 1,153, an increase of 38 compared to Monday. Sixty-three patients are in intensive care, an increase of 10.

The Ministry of Health reports 2,171 new cases of COVID-19. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 961,383 infections have been officially reported, and 14,345 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 131,201 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 104,401 positive. For the day on Monday, 1617 tests were declared, including 1347 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 12,557 analyzes were carried out on Monday and that the positivity rate is 15%.

Regarding vaccination, 4287 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 53% received a third dose.
