Quebec reports 12 new deaths attributed to COVID-19

Quebec reported Tuesday 12 new deaths linked to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,971 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Hospitalizations are stable at 2,126, including 726 due to COVID-19, an increase of one from the previous day. In intensive care, there are 59 patients, including 29 due to COVID-19, a decrease of eight from the previous day.

There are also 1,354 new cases reported, bringing the total to 1,150,154 recorded infections. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

A total of 269,369 rapid tests have been self-reported so far, of which 225,115 were positive. For the day on Monday, 344 were declared, including 282 positive.

As for health care workers, 5,186 are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation, or 172 more than during the previous report.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 9706 samples were taken on Monday.

As far as vaccines are concerned, there have been 4,493 doses administered in the last 24 hours, for a total of 20,348,769 doses administered in Quebec.
