With a 5-2 win for the Remparts against the Océanic on Friday at the Colisée Financière Sun Life in Rimouski, Patrick Roy celebrated his 500e career victory. The head coach becomes the sixth to reach this milestone in the QMJHL.
“I am a very lucky person, reacted the main interested party. I was lucky to be behind the bench of very good teams. I had good players who made it into the team as the years went on. This year, it’s a very special group. The guys, game after game, show consistency. I’m really proud of our group. I was also lucky to be well surrounded as a coach. I have always had good assistants, who have always supported me well in all the actions we took. I was also very supported by Jacques Tanguay [président], who is still a great partner for me. It allows me to do what I love, to work in my passion. So I’m very grateful to him. »
