Quebec registers 9,206 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths

According to the province’s open data portal, 9,206 new cases of COVID-19 were added to the balance sheet on Saturday, or 825 fewer cases than the day before. Quebec also recorded a drop of 31 hospitalizations.

According to these data, 530,002 people have tested positive for the virus since the start of the pandemic.

If we rely on the “Daily portrait of confirmed cases broken down by region” on the Quebec government data site, four deaths were also added to the balance sheet on Friday. The number of victims has risen to 11,664 since the start of the pandemic.

Details on COVID-19-related hospitalizations and vaccination will be released next week.

Government officials have said in recent days that daily numbers are likely underestimated as testing centers across the province are overwhelmed and unable to meet demand.
