Quebec puts its self-declaration page for COVID-19 cases online

The health authorities, in the fog since the shutdown of PCR tests for a majority of Quebecers, are preparing to clarify the epidemiological situation in Quebec. A self-reporting platform for COVID-19 cases went live on Tuesday.

The page, published on the sly during the day, should allow those who obtain a positive result using a rapid test to officially register it in the Covid statistics of the day. It allows you to specify your name, date of birth, health insurance number and the result of your test.

Since the beginning of January, Public Health has referred those who experience symptoms of the disease to rapid tests. Only employees of the health and education networks can continue to go to the screening centre. On several occasions, representatives of the Legault government have agreed that the number of cases reported daily in recent weeks does not correspond to reality.

It took almost a month for the Ministry of Health to put its new self-declaration site online. The senior medical adviser to Public Health Marie-France Raynault had mentioned it even before the Holidays, during a technical briefing.

Further details will follow.
