It will soon be easier to find items produced in Quebec on Amazon. The organization Les Produits du Québec announced on Monday a partnership with the online sales giant.
The logos of the Product of Quebec, Made in Quebec and Designed in Quebec certification marks will be highlighted on the sales sheets of the products concerned. A page dedicated to Quebec Products and a Fleurdelysé store will also be created on the platform.
In a press release, Les Produits du Québec indicated that it wanted to “reach consumers where they make their purchasing decisions”, describing the multinational as “essential”. It must be said that Quebec online shoppers estimate that they have made 46% of their online purchases through Amazon, according to the NETendances 2022 report from the Academy of Digital Transformation.
For its part, Amazon says it wants to support local purchasing. Among the local products sold on Amazon, we find the Peinture Laurentide and Sac Magique brands.
Founded in 2021, Les Produits du Québec has so far certified 62,500 products from 155 companies.
