Quebec Prize | Bouchard, Galipeau, Pintal and Rivard honored

The Quebec government this week unveiled the names of the 16 recipients of the 2021 Quebec Prizes, the highest distinction awarded in culture and science in the province.

Among the winners in culture, let us quote the author Michel Marc Bouchard who receives the Athanase-David prize (literature); singer and actor Michel Rivard, with the Denise-Pelletier Prize (performing arts); journalist and host Céline Galipeau, who won the Guy-Mauffette prize (radio, television, print and digital media); and Serge Giguère, with the Albert-Tessier prize (cinema).

The very first Denise-Filiatrault prize, for the performing arts field, was awarded to the director of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, Lorraine Pintal. “Receiving this award is an honor in itself, but being the first winner exceeds all my expectations,” responded Lorraine Pintal. It makes me proud to be recognized as having followed in Denise Filiatrault’s footsteps. She is a source of inspiration. “
