The Sûreté du Québec announced in a press release that its tactical intervention group had arrested the 37-year-old fugitive at a gas station on rue Seigneurial, in Quebec, around 8 p.m. Saturday.

The individual was handed over to the authorities of the Quebec prison and he is expected to appear on Sunday to face various charges, including that of escaping from legal custody.

Dave Gingras-Gaudet had taken to their heels after having, it seems, had the help of two accomplices in the outer courtyard of the prison.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Security at the time of his flight, he was detained “mainly for drug offences”.

The man will therefore have enjoyed a little less than 48 hours of freedom before being caught by the police.
