The President of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel, confirmed this decision which is not a surprise given the relaxation of the sanitary instructions announced last week.

“The order to favor teleworking is coming to an end. The face-to-face return is therefore possible, and it will be up to each employer to determine the formula that suits (him), “said Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, on November 2.

The return to the officials’ office was originally scheduled for September 7, but the fourth wave of COVID-19 had resulted in the operation being postponed.

Quebec aims to have 50% of employees return to the office by January 14. It will be 100% of the staff by January 28.

The government has adopted a hybrid formula, while officials will be present in the workplace for a minimum of two days a week and will be telecommuting the rest of the time.

“I repeat: teleworking for employees whose tasks are conducive to this way of working is here to stay. From November 15, it will be the start of a new era for all staff, ”says Sonia LeBel. She says she is “convinced that this way of doing things will allow a better balance between work and personal life and that it will make the government more attractive”.
