Quebec reported Wednesday two deaths attributable to COVID-19 and a drop in hospitalizations, when the number of cases detected by PCR test passed above the 2000 mark.
There are currently 1034 hospitalizations, a decrease of nine compared to Tuesday. Fifty people are in intensive care, an increase of four.
The Ministry of Health reports 2,111 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 949,000 people infected. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to certain priority groups.
Since the start of the pandemic, 949,000 infections have been reported, and 14,274 of them have proven fatal.
A total of 117,040 rapid tests were self-reported on the platform put online by Quebec, including 92,090 positive. For the day on Tuesday, 1013 rapid tests were declared, including 875 positive.
The Ministry of Health indicates that 13,515 analyzes were carried out on Tuesday and that the positivity rate is 13.3%.
As for vaccination, 3496 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.
Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 52% received a third dose.
