Quebec offers $900,000 for a campaign to promote Quebec theater

The provincial government announced on Saturday the investment of nearly $900,000 for a campaign to promote Quebec theatre.

Produced in partnership with the Conseil québécois du théâtre, the campaign aims to increase the visibility of the variety of Quebec theatrical offerings among the target audience and to encourage them to return to theaters. Its main objective is to give audiences a taste for getting involved in Quebec theatre, by opting for formulas such as subscriptions or packages.

“This campaign will strengthen the link between the theater community and the public. I invite Quebecers to get tickets or a theater package and reconnect with this rich living art. Buying our theater means helping to promote Quebec culture! said Minister Nathalie Roy in a press release.

“A promotional campaign of such magnitude is unprecedented for the Quebec theater community and it comes at the right time: after two years of pandemic and uncertainty, we want to invite the public to show their commitment to artists and institutions. theatrical,” added Rachel Morse, co-president of the Quebec Theater Council.

The financial support, which is granted under the Economic Recovery Plan for the Cultural Community, launched on June 1, 2020 by the government, is in addition to the assistance already offered to 9 other organizations that have carried out concerted projects and have piloted or will pilot a promotion strategy for their respective sector of intervention.
