(Quebec) A 59-year-old motorcyclist is fighting for his life after a collision that occurred Friday afternoon on Highway 40 West in Quebec City.
Emergency services were called to intervene around 4:45 p.m. near Pierre-Bertrand Boulevard, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
According to initial information gathered by the police, a driver wanted to change lanes but had to turn back due to an obstacle.
While re-entering his lane, a collision occurred with a motorcyclist who had started to overtake him.
The 59-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition, said SQ spokesperson Nicolas Scholtus.
He claims that a police officer trained in collision investigation went to the scene to better understand the causes and circumstances of the accident.
