Quebec lists 26 additional deaths attributable to COVID-19

Twenty-six other people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Quebec, according to Tuesday’s report. In total, there have been 17,125 deaths from the disease since the start of the pandemic.

Among these 26 new deaths, two occurred in the last 24 hours. Sixteen of those deaths occurred two to seven days ago, and eight more than seven days ago.

Hospitalizations have also decreased significantly compared to the previous report.

There were 1,835 hospitalizations, including 630 due to COVID-19, a drop of 24 from the previous day. In intensive care, there is a decrease of 15 patients, for a total of 41, including 25 due to COVID-19.

On the healthcare worker side, 3,555 were absent for reasons related to COVID-19.

Health authorities reported 904 new SARS-CoV-2 infections, but this number is underestimated given that access to testing centers is restricted to priority groups.

As for rapid test figures, 199 were self-reported on the government platform for the day on Monday, including 182 positive. In total, there are 307,373 rapid tests, including 258,479 positives.

According to the Health Ministry dashboard, the positivity rate is 9%.

On the vaccine side, 12,040 doses were administered on Monday, for a total of nearly 22 million doses since the first vaccination campaign.
