Quebec lists 14 more deaths attributable to COVID-19

Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Quebec, as 14 new deaths attributed to the virus and an increase in hospitalizations were reported on Thursday.

There are currently 1,062 patients hospitalized in connection with this disease, an increase of 28 compared to Wednesday. Fifty-seven people are in intensive care, an increase of seven.

The Ministry of Health reports 2295 new cases. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 951,295 infections have been reported, and 14,288 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 119,732 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 94,455 positives. For Wednesday, 1,300 tests were reported, including 1,096 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 16,436 analyzes were carried out on Wednesday and that the positivity rate is 15%.

As for vaccination, 5585 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 52% received a third dose.
