Quebec in the spotlight at the Paris Book Festival

It is Quebec that will be in the spotlight at the next Paris Book Festival, scheduled for April 2024. The announcement was made this Thursday at the Montreal Book Fair, where the director of the Festival, Jean-Baptiste Passé, was passing through.

“The last time that Quebec was in the spotlight was in 1999. It will therefore be just 25 years ago and it is an anniversary that we felt was important to celebrate. To show, also, to lovers of French and Ile-de-France books and reading, how much the Quebec literature scene has evolved. It is all this vitality that we will seek to illustrate,” declared The Press Mr. Past.

The content of the literary program as well as the publishing houses that will be traveling will be revealed on February 27, but we already know that the poet Hélène Dorion will be part of the delegation of Quebec authors who will be present. Québec Édition will be responsible for coordinating the pavilion of honor.

The Paris Book Festival will be held in the French capital from April 12 to 14, 2024. Last spring, Italy was in the spotlight. The event brought together nearly 300 publishing houses and some 1,000 authors at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, in the Grand Palais Éphémère and around fifteen other locations.
