Quebec hot dog day: François Legault responds to a request from comedian Mathieu Dufour

Comedian Mathieu Dufour went out on social networks with an extraordinary request: to make May 6 Quebec Hot Dog Day. If you find the idea funny, wait until you see the response he received from Premier François Legault.

It was first in a video on TikTok that Math Duff presented his idea to the population.

“I would like to propose that May 06 officially become Quebec Hot Dog Day (because when you pronounce it quickly out loud it sounds a bit like “steamed”)”, wrote the comedian in a private message to Mr. Legault.

In a series of stories on Instagram, Mathieu Dufour then explained that the addition of such a day would also be “a logical continuation of festive days in May”. After “May The Fourth” and “Cinco De Mayo” would come “Six De Saucisse”, he specified.

“The official name would be “Steamé” [pour le] May 6, but you could say the “Six Of Sausage”. It would be a variation, ”added Mathieu Dufour, visibly motivated to have his idea go to the National Assembly.

An answer… with a play on words

Barely two hours after sending the message, François Legault responded with his two cents. “We will eSTEAMER if it is a good idea in the Council of Ministers,” he wrote with a hot dog emoji.
