Quebec has fallen below the threshold of 1,000 new cases of COVID-19

Quebec has gone back below the threshold of 1,000 new cases.

According to data released Sunday by the Ministry of Health, 875 new cases have been identified since the previous report. Over the previous two days, that total had climbed to 1171 on Saturday and 1037 on Friday.

Authorities have identified 446,631 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Santé-Québec indicates that 483 of these 875 new cases had not been vaccinated or had received a first dose less than 14 days ago. In addition, 379 newly infected people had received two doses for at least seven days.

No new deaths have been added to the death toll. We deplore 11,574 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its appearance in Quebec.

The situation worsened slightly in hospitals where the number of patients rose from 205 to 216. Sixteen people were admitted to a hospital center. However, 48 people are reported in intensive care, five more than the day before.

However, the number of active outbreaks increased from 667 to 670.

A total of 28,692 analyzes were performed on November 26. The positivity rate dropped two-tenths of a point to 3.2.

No fewer than 25,544 doses of vaccine have been administered over the past 24 hours, including 20,347 first doses to children aged 5 to 11 and 937 booster doses to persons aged 70 and over.

The percentage of people aged 5 years and over who received a first dose is still around 85%. It is also reported that approximately 81% of the Quebec population received a second dose.
