Quebec has 6 new deaths attributed to COVID-19

Quebec reports six new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Thursday in addition to a slight drop in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1,080 hospitalizations, a decrease of four from Wednesday. Thirty people are in intensive care, down from four.

A total of 5,188 healthcare workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll stands at 15,559.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,138 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,082,276 since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 225,842 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 186,001 positives. For Wednesday, 488 tests were reported, including 437 positive.

The Ministry of Health carried out 10,844 analyzes on Wednesday and the positivity rate is 11.2%.

Regarding vaccination, 4492 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 15% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 44% went for a fourth dose.
