Three dummy weapons were found in a vehicle following a risky police intervention that took place in Quebec City on Friday evening.
Friday, around 11:00 p.m., several calls were received at the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) reporting that people had thrown projectiles from their car in the area of rue Etna, in Val-Bélair.
The vehicle was then located on rue Henri-IV in a southerly direction, the SPVQ said on Saturday in a press release. The suspect vehicle eventually made a U-turn at the Einstein exit and was stopped by the police.
On board the vehicle, two men and two women aged between 16 and 18 who collaborated and all were arrested. During the search, the police found the three fake weapons.
The four suspects were released without criminal charges, but each received a statement of offense under municipal regulations.
