Tongue protection

What guided my choice, because I voted at the advance poll last Sunday, is mainly the protection of the language, of the Quebec identity. I did not base myself on the promises vis-à-vis our “magnificent” health care system, because no political formation that has led Quebec for the past 20 years has succeeded in redressing it. Nor on the thresholds of immigration which is in fact only a battle of numbers, the major element being in my opinion their integration into Quebec society and their retention. I did not vote on what has been done in the past four years, but on what should be done in the next four years.

Environment

What will guide my vote on Monday? Environment, environment, environment, environment… it’s one second to midnight.

Daniel Bergeron

Management for all

First of all, that of a rigorous, balanced, efficient management which enables every citizen to live in a decent way. In education, decisions driven by the express desire to change our society, at all levels. In health, get out of the management slump and the privileges associated with a hierarchy that blocks openness to a new way of advancing issues. To have enough respect for children who are starting their lives to ensure that Quebec is in tune with a safe environment. Agree to work with others insofar as it serves the quality of living together.

Company plan

Transparency, honesty, respect for others, societal plan for the future, solid environmental plan, refusal to buy votes from our debt (like the tax cuts promised by others). These are the main issues that will make me vote for Mr. St-Pierre Plamondon’s party. I discovered in this man someone who could be a real head of state. A Prime Minister whose only interest would be that of the Quebec nation.

Bernard Martel

Social Justice and the Environment

What guides my choice this year is my concern to aspire to more social justice and better protection of the environment. Without forgetting, of course, health and education.

Voting from the heart and strategic

I have always told my children to vote for the party closest to their values, since each vote is transformed into a contribution to this party; every vote counts. However, the idea of a strategic vote seemed interesting to me this year, in order to avoid a sweep by the CAQ. We find Mr. Legault arrogant, imagine if he wins even more seats! Voters could therefore examine the 2018 results in their riding and vote for the party that has the best chance of winning the CAQ. This is the case of the PQ in several ridings: Camille-Laurin (formerly Bourget), Labelle, Ungava, Verchères… but unfortunately, the poor performance of the PLQ will cause it to lose seats to the benefit of CAQ. Oh dear life… For my part, I’m lucky enough to be able to combine voting from the heart and voting strategically. And I’ll hold my nose for the next four years.

Climate

Definitely the fight against global warming. Quebec is lagging behind and not taking the necessary measures to fight against global warming. This is a crucial issue, because it will have an immense impact on us, the citizens.

Anouk Charles, Laval

French

Quebec cannot afford to allow the decline of French in Quebec to continue. There is still time to act, but there is not much time left before it is irreversible. I can’t imagine Quebecers deciding to let go of their language and their culture without reacting.

Jacques Lapointe

Environment priority

The environment (even climate change) as a priority, but also employment and immigration, are the two themes that we can no longer ignore. Of course, health and education are very important, but we must first “heal” the planet by moving forward towards drastic solutions to curb greenhouse gases, regardless of the cost. Let’s see beyond the tip of our noses… let’s see rather beyond the tip of our grandchildren’s noses.

Pierre Pilon

peace and unity

My choice is guided by social peace, national unity (regardless of people’s origins), the environment and a healthy democracy involving the presence of an opposition capable of highlighting the government’s blind spots.

Carole Heroux

work for all

What will guide my vote on Monday? It will certainly be transparency and the willingness of leaders to work for the citizens. I will vote to try to balance the powers in Quebec, even though I know that may not be possible. Either way, I’m going to vote. It’s the only way for me to say what I expect from those who claim to want the good of the nation.
