Quebec deplores 38 more deaths attributable to COVID-19

Quebec reports Thursday 38 new deaths attributable to COVID-19 as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

There are currently 2,405 hospitalizations, an increase of 24 from Wednesday. Eighty-eight patients are in intensive care, down from 13.

A total of 10,932 healthcare workers are also absent from the network for reasons related to COVID-19.

The death toll now stands at 14,778.

The Ministry of Health reports 2,909 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,026,345 since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 189,077 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 154,127 positive. For the day of Wednesday, 1008 tests were declared, including 817 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 18,765 analyzes were carried out on Wednesday and that the positivity rate is 15.3%.

As for vaccination, 43,070 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 54% received a third dose.
