Quebec deplores 11 new deaths linked to COVID-19

Quebec reports Wednesday 11 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 as well as a slight increase in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1,012 hospitalizations, up five from Tuesday. Twenty-five people are in intensive care, one less than the day before.

A total of 3,970 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll stands at 15,467.

The Ministry of Health reports 738 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,070,888 since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 217,064 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 178,140 positives. For the day on Tuesday, 280 tests were declared, including 232 positive.
