Quebec crosses the threshold of 1,000 new COVID-19 cases per day

Quebec reported 1,037 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, but no additional deaths.

Since the start of the pandemic, 444,585 infections have been reported, and 11,571 of them have been shown to be fatal. In all, 1,302 cases are added to the total of those identified, but this is a catch-up in the seizure of cases in the Montreal region which extends over several months, even dating back to March 2020.

The health authorities count 206 people hospitalized because of the disease on the territory of Quebec, a decrease of four compared to the day before. Of these, 43 are in intensive care, 2 fewer.

Further details will follow.
