Quebec COVID-19 Report December 13, 2022

All the indices linked to COVID-19 were on the rise, according to the latest government report published on Tuesday, where we see that the bar of 2,000 hospitalizations has once again been crossed.

Twenty-two additional patients have been hospitalized since the day before, bringing the total of hospitalizations to 2021 for the first time in several weeks. Of these patients, 673 are being treated specifically for COVID-19.

In intensive care, nine people are added to the total, which now stands at 63, including 36 due to illness.

There was also a sharp increase in deaths: 22 more people died of COVID-19, including five in the last 24 hours. Fourteen Quebecers lost their lives two to seven days ago, and three more than seven days ago.

Since the start of the pandemic, 17,485 deaths have been recorded.

The number of cases also remained at the top of 1,000 like last week, to stand at 1,217 – an assessment which is certainly underestimated since the screening centers are reserved for priority clienteles.

We must also take into account the 147 positive cases detected on Monday by rapid tests.

According to the ministry, the positivity rate is 11.1%.

For vaccination, only 10,635 Quebecers received an injection on Monday.
