Eighteen Quebec companies have joined forces to facilitate the arrival of Ukrainian immigrants in Canada by sponsoring up to 1,000 families.

“Watching the conflict evolve and witnessing the forced displacement of millions of Ukrainians, it was impossible to remain spectators, we had to do our part,” Eric Boyko, president and co-founder of music distributor Stingray, told AFP. origin of the initiative.

The companies Alimentation Couche-Tard, National Bank of Canada, Bombardier, Broccolini, CAE, Coveo, HELIOS Group, Intelcom, JPMA Global, KPMG, Novacap, Plusgrade, Pomerleau, Resolute Forest Products, Trans-Pro Logistics, SAJO, 5N Plus and Stingray are participating in the project.
These companies have indicated that they want to sponsor up to 80 families each by offering them jobs and “means of subsistence while waiting for the situation to stabilize”.
According to Éric Boyko, these companies are ready to welcome them “from the next few weeks”.
“While responding to labor needs, these companies are making a gesture of solidarity allowing newcomers to work, have access to accommodation and means of subsistence to get through this difficult ordeal while preserving their dignity,” he added.
