Quebec police arrested three individuals who were allegedly involved in a drone delivery that occurred overnight from Saturday to Sunday, at the Quebec City Detention Center.
It was around 2:30 a.m. that the authorities noticed that a drone containing a certain quantity of narcotics had flown over the establishment. An investigation was then launched by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Three men aged 22, 24 and 26 were arrested near the scene by the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ), said the provincial police force.
A small quantity of cannabis, hashish and tobacco, as well as a drone and a cell phone were seized during the intervention.
The suspects were released pending their appearance at the Quebec courthouse. They could face charges of drug possession and trafficking.
“The success of this operation was the result of close collaboration between the police forces and the detention facility,” said the SQ.
