Quebec box office | Testament, by Denys Arcand, starts with a bang





With revenues of more than $400,000 accumulated during its first weekend on display, Will15e feature film by Denys Arcand, achieved the best start for a Quebec film since the reopening of cinemas.


Released in 77 theaters on October 5, Will thus broke the record belonging to the feature film by filmmaker Louise Archambault and screenwriter Marie Viens, The time of a summerwhich grossed more than $255,000 during its first weekend in theaters in July.

let’s remember that Will features Rémy Girard in the role of a septuagenarian who is losing his bearings. He finds himself, reluctantly, involved in a conflict between the director of the retirement home located in the heritage building where he lives and activists woke demanding the destruction of a mural that allegedly offensively depicts Indigenous people entertaining Jacques Cartier and his crew.
