Winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the film Anatomy of a fall had a good first weekend in Quebec cinemas. In fact, this is the best start in the last ten years for a Palme d’Or-winning feature film.
With revenues of just over $70,000, the film by French director Justine Triet took home 7th placee position at the Quebec box office, underlines, in a press release, the distributor Entract Films.
We have to go back to 2013 to observe a similar performance. The Life of Adele by Abdellatif Kechiche then raised $80,000 during its first weekend.
Legal drama with thriller overtones, Anatomy of a fall follows a novelist who, suspected of the murder of her husband, is judged in the presence of her visually impaired son.
