To mark the event, 14 authors – including David Goudreault, Michel Rabagliati, Simon Boulerice, Marie Laberge, Chrystine Brouillet and Matthieu Simard – will revisit the title and cover page of one of their works this Friday in support of the cause.

The Write Free! Campaign is the world’s largest human rights event. It runs from November 22, 2021 to January 31, 2022 and invites participants from all over the world to write messages of hope to those wrongfully imprisoned or persecuted. This year, Amnesty International invites the public to write, among others, to Zhang Zhan, who was one of the few journalists in China to speak about COVID-19 when the Wuhan region was contained and was sentenced to four years. from prison.

Last year, more than 4,496,875 actions and messages were sent, while 127 people were released thanks to this campaign since 2001.

The writing marathon will take place at the Maison du développement durable, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
