May our joy remainthe latest novel by Quebec writer Kevin Lambert, is in the running for the prestigious French Medici literary prize, the specialized magazine reported Thursday Weekly Books.
This is new recognition for the author from Saguenay, who is also in the running for the Goncourt and Décembre prizes with this third novel.
His first book, You’ll love what you killedhad been a finalist for the Medici, while his second, Roberval Quarrelwas part of the first selection of the prize, which aims to reward a work whose author has not yet acquired the notoriety corresponding to his talent.
May our joy remainwhich takes place in the world of architecture, is an foray into the world of the ultra-rich in which the author continues his reflection on capitalism.
Fourteen other novels are part of the first selection for the Medici Prize. The final list will be revealed on October 18, three weeks before the prize is awarded on November 9.
The novel To my brother, by EL Karhu, translated from Finnish by Claire Saint-Germain and published by the Quebec publishing house La Peuplade, is also part of the first selection for the Médicis Prize, in the foreign novels category.
