(Montreal) A traffic signalman in his sixties died Tuesday in the Beauport sector of Quebec after being hit by a heavy vehicle.
The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) was alerted around 3:55 p.m. by several calls to 911 reporting an accident involving a pedestrian and a heavy vehicle, which occurred at 350 rue du Villonet.
The police quickly arrived at the scene and carried out manoeuvres in order to rescue the victim. The man in his sixties, a traffic signaller, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The SPVQ set up a perimeter to protect the scene while investigators and technicians from the Forensic Identification Unit went to the scene to collect testimonies and try to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding this event.
