An 8-month-old child died Tuesday afternoon in the Saint-Sauveur district of Quebec.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) received a call shortly before 2 p.m. about a child suffering from cardiorespiratory arrest. “The first police officers to arrive on the scene provided first aid,” followed by paramedics, said spokesperson Pierre-Olivier Lévesque.
An escort was then coordinated, “but unfortunately the child was pronounced dead at the hospital,” he said. Due to the young age of the child, SPVQ investigators were dispatched to the scene to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
