QMJHL | Yoan Loshing, player of the week

(Montreal) Moncton Wildcats forward Yoan Loshing was named player of the week in the QMJHL, the Cecchini circuit announced Monday morning.

In two away games last week, the 19-year-old from Lemoyne scored five times and added an assist as the Wildcats posted a perfect 2-0 weekly record.

Loshing first stood out with a hat trick, his third career in the QMJHL, and an assist in the Wildcats’ 7-4 victory against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Wednesday night.

The Quebecer, who is in his fourth season in the QMJHL, then scored a double in his team’s 2-1 victory against the Cape Breton Eagles on Saturday evening.

Loshing, a first-round pick of the Wildcats in the 2020 QMJHL Draft, is his team’s leading scorer despite missing four games due to injury early in the season. He has 28 points in 18 games.

He succeeds forward Jordan Dumais of the Halifax Mooseheads.
