QMJHL | The Voltigeurs win 5-4 in shootout against the Drakkar

(Drummondville) The Drummondville Voltigeurs scored a goal on each of their three shootout attempts to defeat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 5-4 on Monday afternoon.

After overtime was unsuccessful, Alexis Morin, Sam Olivier and Luke Woodworth all scored in the shootout.

The Voltigeurs scored twice in the third period to take a 4-2 lead, but they let the Drakkar come from behind when Niks Fenenko threaded the needle twice in less than five minutes.

Morin and Olivier, twice, also flashed the red light in regulation time. Tristan Roy completed the score for the Drummondville squad, which found their way back to victory. Charles-Antoine Dumont participated in two goals for his team.

Vincent Collard and Émile Chouinard both had a goal and an assist for the Drakkar, which has lost its last two outings.

Rookie goalie Cédric Cyr-Dauphinais signed a first win in the QMJHL thanks to 19 saves for the Voltigeurs. His vis-à-vis at the Drakkar, Olivier Adam, yielded four times in 30 shots.

Keiran Gallant set up three goals for the Charlottetown Islanders, who defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 5-2.

Tigers 2, Oceanic 4

Alexandre Blais, Julien Béland, Cory MacGillivray and Mathis Aguilar all scored their first goals of the season, guiding the Rimouski Océanic to a 4-2 win over the Victoriaville Tigres.

Cataracts 2, Olympics 4

Cole Cormier moved the ropes for the seventh time this season and the Gatineau Olympiques beat the Shawinigan Cataractes 4-2.

Huskies 1, Forers 3

William Blackburn saved 28 pucks and the Val-d’Or Foreurs beat the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3-1.
