During a four-on-three power play, with 3:20 remaining in the second period, Bolduc fired a precise shot into the top corner to the right of goalkeeper Antoine Coulombe.

The Remparts came under pressure from the Cataractes at the end of the third period, but William Rousseau notably closed the door on a deflected shot to confirm the victory for his team.

The Quebec team took a 2-1 lead in this series. She will have the opportunity to get her ticket to the President Cup final in Game 4 on Monday night.

Xavier Filion and Nicolas Savoie also moved the ropes for the Remparts, who are trying to participate in the QMJHL final for the first time since 2015. Rousseau finished the game with 26 saves.

Jordan Tourigny and Zachary Massicotte replied for the Cataractes, who erased a 2-0 deficit with two second-period goals. Coulombe stopped 23 pucks in a losing cause.

Islanders 3 – Phoenix 2 (Charlottetown leads 2-1)

Canadian prospect Xavier Simoneau threaded the needle late in the third period and the Charlottetown Islanders defeated the Sherbrooke Phoenix 3-2.

After goaltender Jakob Robillard made a superb save on a penalty to Xavier Parent, Simoneau jumped on a loose puck to put the Islanders back in front.

The Islanders took a 2-1 lead in the series and they can finish Monday night in Sherbrooke.

Patrick Guay scored the other two goals for the Islanders, who have never made the President Cup final. Lukas Cormier prepared two goals for his team.

Guay gave the visitors a 2-1 lead when he fired an accurate shot into the top of the net. Phoenix defenseman Tyson Hinds, however, tied the game midway through the third period when he picked up a loose drive near the net.

Stéphane Huard Jr. also darkened the score sheet for the Phoenix, which is also trying to advance to the final for the first time in its history.

Francesco Lapenna blocked 28 shots in front of the Islanders cage while Robillard made 30 saves for the Sherbrooke squad.
